2 lbs Russet Potatoes-peeled and cubed
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
4 cups Milk
2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

A comforting and easy-to-make side dish featuring tender potatoes coated in a creamy cheese sauce.
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Place Potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain well.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt Butter from Cheese Sauce ingredients over medium heat. Whisk in Flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, creating a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in Milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in Cheddar Cheese, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Salt, and Pepper until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  6. Add Potatoes to the Cheese Sauce and stir to coat evenly.
  7. Pour the potato mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  8. In a small bowl, combine Crushed Cornflakes and Melted Butter from Topping ingredients. Sprinkle over the potatoes.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
