Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Continue cooking until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. This is your Browned Butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all Dry Ingredients.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine all Wet Ingredients, including the cooled Browned Butter.
  4. Add the Wet Ingredients to the Dry Ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the diced Apples.
  6. Heat about 2 inches of Canola Oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot.
  8. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  10. In a small bowl, combine Powdered Sugar and Ground Cinnamon. Dust generously over the fritters before serving.
