Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine all Apples ingredients and toss to coat. Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the Bourbon-Caramel Sauce: In a saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until amber. Carefully whisk in heavy cream and butter. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon and salt. Set aside.
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
- Drizzle half of the Bourbon-Caramel Sauce over the apples.
- In a separate bowl, combine all Almond Crumble ingredients. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut the butter into the flours and sugar until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving.
- Drizzle the remaining Bourbon-Caramel Sauce over the warm Brown Betty before serving.
