Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine all Apples ingredients and toss to coat. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Bourbon-Caramel Sauce: In a saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until amber. Carefully whisk in heavy cream and butter. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon and salt. Set aside.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
  5. Drizzle half of the Bourbon-Caramel Sauce over the apples.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine all Almond Crumble ingredients. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut the butter into the flours and sugar until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving.
  9. Drizzle the remaining Bourbon-Caramel Sauce over the warm Brown Betty before serving.
