Copycat BJ's Brewhouse Root Beer
A refined version of the classic root beer, using brown sugar and a blend of spices for a more complex flavor profile.

Packed Light Brown Sugar
1 tbsp
Root Beer Extract
1 tsp
Vanilla Extract
1/4 tsp
Wintergreen Extract

A refined version of the classic root beer, using brown sugar and a blend of spices for a more complex flavor profile.
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine all Root Beer Base ingredients.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any spice sediment.
- Pour the root beer base into a large pitcher or bottles.
- Gently stir in the chilled Club Soda or Sparkling Water just before serving. Do not shake.
- Serve chilled over ice.
