Instructions
  1. Prepare the Meat Sauce: Heat Olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add Ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add Onion and Garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in Crushed tomatoes, Tomato sauce, Oregano, Basil, Red pepper flakes, Salt, and Pepper. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat, and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook Ziti pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain well.
  4. Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine Ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, Egg, Salt, and Pepper. Mix well.
  5. Assemble the Baked Ziti: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine cooked Ziti pasta and Meat Sauce. Gently toss to coat.
  6. Spread half of the pasta mixture in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread the Cheese Mixture evenly over the pasta. Top with the remaining pasta mixture.
  7. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
