In a bowl, combine all Burger Patties ingredients and gently mix. Form into 4 patties.
In a saucepan, combine all Whiskey River BBQ Sauce ingredients. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
Grill or cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, place cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.
Lightly toast brioche hamburger buns.
Spread Whiskey River BBQ Sauce on both halves of each bun.
Assemble burgers: bottom bun, lettuce, patty with cheese, bacon, red onion, top bun. Serve immediately.
