3/4 cup Granulated Sugar

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the Butter: Melt Butter in a saucepan over medium heat, swirling occasionally, until golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together all Custard ingredients until well combined.
  4. Place Bread and Raisins in the baking dish. Pour the Custard mixture evenly over the bread, pressing down gently to ensure the bread is soaked.
  5. In a small bowl, combine browned Butter and Brown Sugar for the Topping. Sprinkle evenly over the Custard-soaked bread.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Let cool slightly before serving.
