A more flavorful version of the classic casserole, featuring a homemade sauce and sharper cheddar.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook French Fries according to package directions. Spread cooked fries in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- To make the Sauce: In a saucepan, melt Butter over medium heat. Whisk in Flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in Milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in Dill Pickle Juice, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, and Black Pepper.
- Pour Sauce over the French Fries, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Sprinkle diced Dill Pickles over the sauce.
- In a small bowl, combine Shredded Cheddar Cheese and Panko Bread Crumbs with Melted Butter. Sprinkle over the casserole.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
