Instructions
  1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the Bread cubes evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together all Custard ingredients until well combined.
  4. Pour the Custard mixture evenly over the Bread cubes, pressing down gently to ensure all pieces are soaked.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, pecan pieces, and brown sugar for the Topping. Sprinkle evenly over the Custard-soaked bread.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake uncovered for 50-55 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Let cool slightly before serving.
