Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.
  2. Brown the Butter: Melt Butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, toss the sliced Pears with Lemon Juice to prevent browning.
  4. In a blender or whisk, combine all Custard ingredients, including the browned butter, and blend or whisk until smooth.
  5. Arrange the Pears in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Pour the Custard mixture over the Pears.
  7. Sprinkle with Flaked Almonds (optional).
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown. A knife inserted near the center should come out mostly clean.
  9. Let cool slightly before dusting with Powdered Sugar and serving.
