A slightly more sophisticated flatbread with a homemade dough, a touch of honey in the onions, and a sprinkle of toasted walnuts.
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Flatbread Dough: Combine Bread flour, Instant yeast, and Salt in a large bowl. Add Warm water and Olive oil and mix until a shaggy dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  2. Prepare the Caramelized Onions: Heat Olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Yellow onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30-40 minutes, or until deeply golden brown and caramelized. Stir in Balsamic vinegar, Honey, Salt, and Black pepper during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  4. Stretch or roll out the Flatbread Dough to a large rectangle on a lightly oiled baking sheet.
  5. Spread the Caramelized Onions evenly over the dough.
  6. Arrange the Fig quarters and Brie cheese over the onions.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Drizzle with Balsamic glaze, sprinkle with Fresh thyme leaves and Toasted walnuts before serving.
