Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the All-purpose flour and Salt. Gradually add the Warm water, melted Unsalted butter, and Apple cider vinegar, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Make the Filling: In a separate bowl, combine the Apples, Cranberries, Brown sugar, Panko breadcrumbs, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Almond extract. Mix well.
- Prepare the Streusel Topping: In a small bowl, combine the All-purpose flour, Brown sugar, and cold cubed Unsalted butter. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Assemble the Strudel: On a large, clean surface covered with a clean cloth, roll out the Dough into a large, thin rectangle (approximately 16x20 inches). Brush the dough with the melted Unsalted butter. Spread the Filling evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.
- Carefully roll up the dough, starting from one of the long sides, to form a strudel. Pinch the ends to seal.
- Place the strudel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle the Streusel Topping evenly over the strudel.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Prepare the Glaze: While the strudel is baking, whisk together the Powdered sugar and Apple juice in a small bowl.
- Brush the warm strudel with the Glaze. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
