Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all Dry Ingredients.
  3. Cut in the cold Leaf Lard using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Work quickly to keep the lard cold.
  4. Make a well in the center and pour in the cold Buttermilk. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat into a 3/4-inch thick rectangle.
  6. Fold the dough in half and pat down again to 3/4-inch thickness. Repeat this folding process 4-5 times to create layers. Chill dough for 15 minutes.
  7. Cut out biscuits using a 2.5-inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops of the biscuits with Melted Lard and sprinkle with Flaky Sea Salt.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
