Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the Water and Molasses.
- In another shallow bowl, place the Sesame Seeds.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a long rope, about 12 inches long.
- Form each rope into a ring, pinching the ends together to seal.
- Dip each ring into the Water and Molasses mixture, then dredge in the Sesame Seeds, ensuring they are well coated.
- Place the sesame-coated rings on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
