Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
While the dough rises, prepare the Sauce by combining all Sauce ingredients in a medium saucepan. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, allowing the flavors to meld.
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 12-inch round cake pan or cast iron skillet generously with olive oil.
Punch down the risen dough and press it into the prepared pan, working it up the sides to create a raised edge.
Spread the Sauce evenly over the dough.
