Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- First, brown the butter: melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, swirling occasionally, until golden brown and fragrant. Cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together all Dry Ingredients.
- Cut in the cooled Browned Butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the Cold Buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in 1/4 cup of the Aged Cheddar Cheese.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the biscuits are baking, prepare the Cheddar Bay Topping by combining all topping ingredients in a small bowl.
- Immediately after removing the biscuits from the oven, brush generously with the Cheddar Bay Topping.
- Serve warm.
