
Runza Sandwich
A hearty, savory sandwich filled with beef, cabbage, and onions, baked in a soft bread pocket.

All-purpose flour
1 tsp

1 tbsp
Sugar
1 packet
Active dry yeast

A hearty, savory sandwich filled with beef, cabbage, and onions, baked in a soft bread pocket.
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine Dough ingredients. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- While dough rises, prepare the Filling. Brown Ground beef in a large skillet. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add Cabbage and Onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in Garlic powder, Salt, and Pepper.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 6 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a circle about 6 inches in diameter.
- Place a generous portion of Filling in the center of each circle.
- Bring the edges of the dough up and pinch to seal, forming a pocket.
- Place Runzas on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
