1/2 cup Japanese soy sauce (shoyu)
1/4 cup Mirin
2 tbsp Sake

Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, combine all Tare ingredients. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together Potato starch and Water to create a slurry.
  3. Slowly pour the slurry into the simmering Tare, whisking constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Place Chicken in the slow cooker and pour the prepared Tare over the chicken, ensuring it's well coated.
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until chicken is tender and cooked through.
  6. Shred the chicken with two forks.
  7. Garnish with black sesame seeds and green onions before serving over rice.
