1 pound Dried Great Northern Beans
8 cups Chicken Broth
8 ounces Smoked Turkey
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Onion-diced

Instructions
  1. Soak Beans overnight in Water.
  2. Drain Beans and place in a slow cooker with Chicken Broth and Smoked Turkey. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until beans are tender.
  3. About 30 minutes before serving, heat Olive Oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add Onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add Garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Add the Onion and Garlic mixture to the Beans. Season with Smoked Paprika, Cayenne Pepper, Salt, and Pepper.
  5. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  6. In a large bowl, whisk together Cornmeal, Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, and Salt.
  7. Add the minced Jalapeño to the dry ingredients.
  8. In a separate bowl, whisk together Buttermilk, Melted Butter, and Egg.
  9. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  10. Pour batter into a greased 20x20 cm (8x8 inch) baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Serve Soup Beans hot with Jalapeño Cornbread.
