1 pound Penne Pasta
1 pound Italian Sausage-hot, removed from casing
1 Bell Pepper-red, thinly sliced
1 Onion-yellow, diced
1 (28 ounce) can Crushed Tomatoes

A more flavorful version of spicy sausage pasta with the addition of bell peppers and a touch of cream.
Instructions
  1. Cook Pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta is cooking, brown Sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add Onion and Bell Pepper to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, until softened.
  4. Add Garlic and Red Pepper Flakes to the skillet and cook for 1 minute more, until fragrant.
  5. Stir in Tomato Paste and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Pour in Crushed Tomatoes, Dried Oregano, Salt, and Black Pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir in Heavy Cream and cook for 2 minutes more.
  8. Add the cooked Pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a creamy sauce.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with Parmesan Cheese and Fresh Parsley.
