1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup Whole milk
1 Egg
2 tbsp Fresh parsley-chopped

A refined version of the classic meatball marinara sub, using fresh herbs and a more complex sauce.
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine all Meatballs ingredients and mix gently. Form into approximately 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  4. While meatballs are baking, prepare the Sauce. Heat Olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add Garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Deglaze the pan with Dry red wine, scraping up any browned bits. Add Crushed tomatoes, Tomato paste, Dried oregano, Fresh basil, Red pepper flakes, Sugar, Salt, and Black pepper to the saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Cut Sub rolls in half horizontally. Spoon Sauce into the bottom half of each roll.
  7. Add Meatballs to the rolls, then top with Shredded mozzarella cheese and Provolone cheese.
  8. Serve immediately.
