
Grandfather Fitzwilliam's Pear And Ginger Clafoutis
A classic French baked custard dessert with pears and a hint of ginger. This version uses readily available ingredients and a straightforward method.

Whole Milk
1/2 cup
Heavy Cream
1/2 cup
Granulated Sugar

A classic French baked custard dessert with pears and a hint of ginger. This version uses readily available ingredients and a straightforward method.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.
- In a bowl, toss the sliced Pears with Lemon Juice to prevent browning.
- In a blender or whisk, combine all Custard ingredients and blend or whisk until smooth.
- Arrange the Pears in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the Custard mixture over the Pears.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown. A knife inserted near the center should come out mostly clean.
- Let cool slightly before dusting with Powdered Sugar and serving.
