Privacy Policy

Effective August 24, 2026. This policy explains how Mealovate collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you use our recipe elevation, meal planning, ingredient search, shopping, community, and membership services.

Information we collect

• Account information: email, username, profile image, login credentials, and OAuth provider identifiers.
• Food and household information: preferences, allergies you choose to provide, pantry items, saved recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, household membership, and cooking activity.
• Content: recipes, comments, images, URLs, and other material you submit or ask Mealovate to process.
• Transactions: membership status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, purchase and referral attribution, and transaction amounts. Mealovate does not store full payment-card numbers.
• Device and usage information: IP-derived security information, browser and device data, session identifiers, feature interactions, diagnostics, and approximate analytics.

How we use information

We use information to operate and personalize Mealovate, elevate and design recipes from your requests and ingredients, provide meal planning and shopping features, authenticate accounts, process memberships, prevent abuse, measure performance, communicate with you, and meet legal obligations.

Information comes from you, your device and use of Mealovate, members of a household you join, and providers you choose to connect, such as Google and Stripe.

Legal bases

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you; with consent for optional marketing, analytics, or connected services where required; for legitimate interests such as security, service reliability, and product improvement balanced against your rights; and to comply with law or protect legal claims. Food preferences and allergy information you choose to provide are used to personalize the service, not to provide medical advice, and can be removed from your account.

How we disclose information

We disclose information to service providers that help us run Mealovate, such as hosting, database, authentication, AI, analytics, email, commerce, and payment providers; when you direct a public or household interaction; during a business transaction; or when required to protect rights, safety, and comply with law. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy terms. We do not sell personal information for money.

Retention and deletion

Account identity and private product data are deleted when account deletion completes. Operational analytics are de-identified and ordinarily retained for up to 24 months. De-identified tax, accounting, payment, refund, dispute, fraud, and legal-claim records may be retained for up to seven years, or longer when law or an active claim requires it. Active backups are isolated from normal use and expire on the backup schedule. Stripe may independently retain records it is legally required to keep.

Delete your account at Delete Account. Standard self-service requests are processed immediately; requests needing ownership, fraud, dispute, or legal review are answered within 28 days. We may ask you to verify your identity. We notify applicable recipients of an erasure request when required by law.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to appeal a decision. You may unsubscribe from marketing using the link in the message. To make a request or appeal, email privacy@mealovate.com. You may also complain to your local privacy regulator.

Children

Mealovate is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn that we did, we will delete it. A parent or guardian may contact privacy@mealovate.com.

Security and changes

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process. No service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy and will change the effective date above; material changes may also be communicated in the service.

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
