
Grandmother Willow's Caramelized Onion And Fig Flatbread

A rustic and comforting flatbread featuring sweet caramelized onions, ripe figs, and a touch of balsamic glaze.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Prepare the Caramelized Onions: Heat Olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Yellow onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30-40 minutes, or until deeply golden brown and caramelized. Stir in Balsamic vinegar, Brown sugar, Salt, and Black pepper during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Stretch or roll out the Pizza dough to a large rectangle on a lightly oiled baking sheet.
- Brush the Flatbread Dough with Olive oil.
- Spread the Caramelized Onions evenly over the dough.
- Arrange the Fig quarters and Goat cheese over the onions.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Drizzle with Balsamic glaze and sprinkle with Fresh thyme leaves before serving.
