Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the Warm Water, Sugar, and Active Dry Yeast from the Pretzel Dough group. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the Flour, Salt, and Vegetable Oil to the yeast mixture. Knead for 5-7 minutes until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough rises, prepare the Beer Cheese Dip. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients from the Beer Cheese Dip group. Mix well and set aside.
  5. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  6. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope, about 24 inches long.
  7. Shape each rope into a pretzel shape. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. In a large pot, bring the Water and Baking Soda from the Pretzel Bath group to a boil. Carefully lower each pretzel into the boiling water for 30 seconds per side.
  9. Remove pretzels from the water and place back on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with Coarse Salt from the Toppings group.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm with the Beer Cheese Dip.
