Instructions

  1. Cut the Onion into 3/4 inch thick rings and separate.
  2. Gently pull apart the onion rings, leaving a small section connected to form a pocket.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the Pizza Filling ingredients and mix well.
  4. Stuff each onion ring with approximately 1.5 tablespoons of the Pizza Filling.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the Batter ingredients until smooth.
  6. Heat the Peanut Oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Dip each stuffed onion ring into the Batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
  8. Carefully lower the battered onion rings into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  9. Fry for 3-4 minutes per batch, or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove the onion rings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  11. Serve immediately with a side of marinara sauce.
