A simple garlic naan recipe that's easy to make at home with readily available ingredients. Perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Instant yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 cup Warm water
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp Butter-melted
  • 2 cloves Garlic-minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh cilantro-chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine all Dough ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough rises, prepare the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine all Garlic Butter ingredients.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 6 equal portions.
  6. Roll each portion into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  8. Brush one side of each naan with Garlic Butter.
  9. Place the naan, butter-side down, onto the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Brush the top with Garlic Butter and flip. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm.

Garlic Naan with Ghee and Nigella Seeds

A slightly elevated garlic naan recipe using ghee for a richer flavor and nigella seeds for added texture and aroma.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Instant yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Warm milk
  • 1/2 cup Warm water
  • 2 tbsp Ghee-melted
  • 3 tbsp Ghee-melted
  • 3 cloves Garlic-minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh cilantro-chopped
  • 1 tsp Nigella seeds

  • 1/2 cup Active sourdough starter

  5. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 6 equal portions.
  6. Roll each portion into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
