A quick and easy chili dog recipe perfect for a weeknight meal. This version uses readily available ingredients and a simple chili recipe.
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat Vegetable oil over medium heat. Add Onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add Ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in Kidney beans, Diced tomatoes, Tomato sauce, Chili powder, Cumin, Garlic powder, Salt, and Pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the chili simmers, grill or boil Hot dogs according to package directions.
- Place Hot dogs in Hot dog buns. Top with Chili, Shredded cheddar cheese, Diced onions, and Mustard.

- 1 (15 oz) can Diced tomatoes-undrained
- 1 (8 oz) can Tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- Toppings
- As needed Shredded cheddar cheese
- As needed Diced onions
- As needed Mustard
