Instructions

  1. Prepare the broth: In a large pot, combine the Beef broth, Fish sauce, Soy sauce, Ginger, Star anise, Cinnamon stick, and Sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Prepare the noodles: While the broth is simmering, cook the rice noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the beef: Thinly slice the Beef sirloin against the grain. Set aside.
  4. Assemble the pho: Divide the cooked rice noodles among bowls. Top with the raw Beef sirloin and pour the hot broth over the beef (the hot broth will cook the beef).
  5. Garnish and serve: Garnish with Bean sprouts, Cilantro, Basil, Green onions, and Jalapeno (if using). Serve immediately with Lime wedges on the side.
