Sonic Drive-In Corn Dogs

A simple, crowd-pleasing corn dog recipe that mimics the Sonic Drive-In favorite, made with readily available ingredients.
Instructions
- Insert a wooden skewer into each hot dog, leaving about 1 inch exposed at the bottom for a handle.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the Cornmeal Batter ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat the Vegetable Oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip each skewered hot dog into the Cornmeal Batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Carefully lower the battered hot dogs into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.
- Remove the corn dogs from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately with your favorite condiments.
