Sweetgrass-Infused Berry Syrup
A straightforward berry syrup infused with the subtle, vanilla-like aroma of sweetgrass. Perfect for pancakes, waffles, or as a glaze for desserts.
2 cups
Mixed Berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
1 cup
Granulated Sugar
1 tbsp
Dried Sweetgrass (culinary grade)
1/2 cup
Water
1 tsp
Lemon Juice
A straightforward berry syrup infused with the subtle, vanilla-like aroma of sweetgrass. Perfect for pancakes, waffles, or as a glaze for desserts.
Instructions
- Combine Berries, Sugar, and Water in a medium saucepan.
- Add Sweetgrass to the saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened to your desired consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat and stir in Lemon Juice.
- Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the sweetgrass and berry seeds. Discard the solids.
- Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
