  1. Peel and cut the Onions into petals, leaving the root end intact to hold them together.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all Batter ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dip each onion petal into the Batter, ensuring it's fully coated.
  5. Carefully lower the battered petals into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Fry for 2-3 minutes per batch, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the fried petals and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. While the petals are frying, prepare the Dipping Sauce by combining all Dipping Sauce ingredients in a small bowl and mixing well.
  9. Serve the hot onion petals immediately with the Dipping Sauce.
