In a bowl, gently combine all Burger Patties ingredients. Form into 4 patties.
Prepare the Green Chile Sauce: Heat Vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add Onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add Garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
Stir in Diced green chiles, Water, and Cumin. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cook the Burger Patties: Grill or pan-fry patties to desired doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, place Cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.
Assemble the burgers: Spread Green Chile Sauce on both halves of the buns. Place a cheese-covered patty on the bottom bun, top with Lettuce and Tomato. Cover with the top bun and serve.
