Bacon Cracklin’ Gravy
A hearty gravy made with crispy bacon and a simple roux, perfect over biscuits or mashed potatoes.

All-purpose flour

Bacon fat-reserved from cooking bacon

A hearty gravy made with crispy bacon and a simple roux, perfect over biscuits or mashed potatoes.
Instructions
- Cook Bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of bacon fat.
- Crumble the cooked Bacon and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt Butter with the reserved Bacon fat over medium heat.
- Whisk in All-purpose flour and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, to create a roux.
- Gradually whisk in Chicken broth, ensuring no lumps form. Bring to a simmer.
- Add Black pepper, Garlic powder, Onion powder, and Cayenne pepper (if using).
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened to your desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the crumbled Bacon. Serve hot over biscuits, mashed potatoes, or other desired accompaniments.
