Dinner has a soundtrack. 21 songs paced to this 91-minute cook—from first chop to clean kitchen.

Start the first song before you prep. Follow the recipe for cooking times, then let the final tracks carry you through cleanup.

  1. Prepare the Crust: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough comes together. Form the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Assemble and Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the chilled dough and place it in a 9-inch pie plate. Pour the apple filling into the crust. Dot the top with butter pieces. Cover the edges of the crust with foil to prevent burning. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Remove the foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
  4. Cool and Serve: Let the pie cool completely before slicing and serving.
