Johnnycakes
Simple, traditional johnnycakes made with basic ingredients. A comforting and quick breakfast or side dish.

Yellow Cornmeal-medium grind
1/2 cup
All-Purpose Flour
1 tbsp
Sugar
1 tsp
Baking Powder
1/2 tsp
Salt

Simple, traditional johnnycakes made with basic ingredients. A comforting and quick breakfast or side dish.
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together all Dry Ingredients.
- In a separate bowl, combine all Wet Ingredients.
- Pour the Wet Ingredients into the Dry Ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each johnnycake.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve immediately with butter and maple syrup.
