Dinner has a soundtrack. 20 songs paced to this 77-minute cook—from first chop to clean kitchen.

Start the first song before you prep. Follow the recipe for cooking times, then let the final tracks carry you through cleanup.

  1. Prepare the Coffee Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the cooled strong brewed coffee and coffee liqueur. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Mascarpone Cream: In a heatproof bowl set over a simmering pot of water (double boiler), whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and thickened. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Gently fold the cooled egg yolk mixture into the mascarpone cheese until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream and vanilla extract into the mascarpone mixture.
  5. Assemble the Tiramisu: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the Coffee Mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  6. Spread half of the Mascarpone Cream over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining Mascarpone Cream.
  7. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  8. Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder.
