Instructions
🎙️ Cook with voice coach- Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Fry the Chicken: Heat about 1 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Make the Biscuits: Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add the buttermilk, mixing until just combined. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and pat into a 1-inch thick circle. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Make the Gravy: In the skillet used to fry the chicken, melt the chicken drippings over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, creating a roux. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve: Serve the fried chicken with the biscuits and gravy.
