4 cups Water
1/2 tsp Salt
1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
6 slices Bacon

Instructions
  1. Cook Bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, reserving 1 tablespoon of bacon grease.
  2. Bring Water and Salt to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  3. Gradually whisk in Grits and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until grits are tender.
  4. Stir in Butter and Milk until well combined.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in Cheddar Cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Crumble cooked Bacon and sprinkle over grits. Serve immediately.
