3 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
3 cups Milk

  1. Cook Macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare Mac and Cheese: In a saucepan, melt Butter over medium heat. Whisk in Flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in Milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and stir in Cheddar Cheese, Salt, and Pepper until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  3. Add cooked Macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine. Set aside.
  4. Cook Bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Prepare Battering: In a bowl, whisk together Flour, Baking Powder, and Salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together Milk and Egg. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and whisk until just combined.
  6. Assemble Sandwiches: Spread Mac and Cheese on two slices of Bread. Top with Bacon. Cover with remaining Bread slices.
  7. Dip each sandwich in the Battering, ensuring it is fully coated.
  8. Heat Vegetable Oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Carefully lower battered sandwiches into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
