2 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Shortening
1 cup Warm Water

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine all Dough ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface.
  2. Cover the dough and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of Vegetable Oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 3-inch squares or diamonds.
  5. Carefully drop a few sopaipillas at a time into the hot oil. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown and puffed up.
  6. Remove the sopaipillas with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Drizzle generously with Honey and serve immediately.
